Kidney Kare Tea

Internal Use: Take a tablespoon of the tea blend, (optional) add a teaspoon of fresh grated ginger, place in a teapot with about a 1 litre capacity and add boiling water. Leave to steep for 10-15 minutes. Strain and drink copious amounts of this tea throughout the day.

Taraxacum officinalis folia (Dandelion leaf): May cause allergic reactions inpeople sensitive to Asteraceae. Avoid inobstructions of bile ducts and gallbladder.

Arctostaphylos uva ursi (Bear berry): Contraindicated in kidney disorders, pregnancy, lactation and for children under 12 years.

Mentha piperita (Peppermint): should be used with care in patients with salicylate sensitivity and aspirin induced asthma, as well as those with gallstones.  Contraindicated in GORD as it can relax the lower oesophageal sphincter, exacerbating reflux.

Equisetum arvense (Horsetail): May deplete thiamine due to the presence of thiaminase.  Caution with antidiabetic medication.

Solidago virgaurea (Golden rod): Caution in sensitivityto a steraceae plants.

Althaea officinalis herba (Marshmallow leaf): Take away from prescribed drugs as it may retard their absorption.

Zea mays (Cornsilk): No known contraindications.
